Rod Boddie is the General Counsel for Congressional Federal Credit Union. He oversees the credit union’s general legal matters, compliance and security initiatives, and enterprise risk management.
Rod has been practicing law for over 25 years -- 17 years as the General Counsel for Seneca One Finance, a specialty finance company; five years as Senior Counsel at Winstar Communication, a fixed broadband service provider; and five years in private practice.
As General Counsel, Rod has trained and mentored a number of lawyers, paralegals and non-legal personnel. He created a number of programs to train lawyers on how to better understand the needs of clients and effectively deliver legal services. He is also the author of Succeeding as Outside Counsel: A Lawyer's Guide to Providing First Class Legal Services from the Client's Perspective.
Rod holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a B.S. in Finance from James Madison University. He played 3 years of minor league baseball in the Montreal Expos' organization, and chose a career in law when he came to the painful realization that he couldn't hit a slider.
