Elizabeth A. Abdoo has served since February 2003 as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Host Hotels & Resorts, an S&P 500 company that is one of the largest owners of luxury and upper upscale hotels. She joined the company in June 2001 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel and was elected Secretary in August 2001.
From 2000 to May 2001, Elizabeth was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Orbital Sciences Corporation (now Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems) where she practiced and advised the company on mergers and acquisitions, finance and securities matters. She joined Orbital in 1996 as Assistant General Counsel and was promoted to Vice President and Assistant General Counsel in 1997. Prior to Orbital, Elizabeth was an associate at Hogan & Hartson (Hogan Lovells) in Washington DC from 1993-1996 and at Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts (Pillsbury Winthrop) in New York from 1986-1992, in the practice areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions and finance.
Elizabeth has significant financial, securities, and mergers and acquisitions experience as well as extensive experience advising on corporate governance matters and other legal issues and challenges facing public companies. Elizabeth earned her BA and Juris Doctor from Georgetown University and is a member of the Board of Visitors of Georgetown Law where she serves on the finance committee.
