
Elizabeth A. Abdoo serves as a senior legal advisor to Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd., a privately held professional engineering and technical services firm headquartered in Reston, Virginia, that provides real estate, energy, infrastructure, construction and environmental management solutions to private and public clients throughout the U.S.
From 2003 until November 2019, Elizabeth was executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Host Hotels & Resorts, an S&P 500 company that is one of the largest owners of upper upscale and luxury hotels. She continued with the company as a senior advisor until April 2020. Elizabeth had joined Host in June 2001 as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. From 2000 to May 2001, she was senior vice president and assistant general counsel of Orbital Sciences Corporation (Northrup Grumman) where she practiced and advised the company on mergers and acquisitions, finance and securities matters. She joined Orbital in 1996 as assistant general counsel and was promoted to vice president and assistant general counsel in 1997. Prior to Orbital, Elizabeth was an associate at Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) in Washington DC from 1993-1996 and at Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts (now Pillsbury Winthrop) in New York from 1986-1992, in the practice areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions, and finance.
Since 2019, Elizabeth has been a board member of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, where she serves on both the governance and finance committees. Since 2018, she has served on the Board of Visitors of Georgetown University Law Center and as a member of its finance committee. Elizabeth has significant financial, real estate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions experience as well as extensive experience advising boards of directors and executives on corporate governance matters and other legal issues and challenges facing public companies. She earned her BA and Juris Doctor from Georgetown University.
